The Urban Design Unit includes a team of landscape architects, architects, urban designers and engagement advisor and is responsible for the planning, design and development of public spaces and streets in the municipality for residents, workers and visitors to the City. The Unit is a part of the City Strategy Branch which delivers a broad range of open space, urban design, strategic planning and economic development services to the community.
The Unit's activities are wide ranging and require a high level of cooperation with other parts of the organisation to meet the needs and aspirations of the community and elected representatives.
We have an exciting new role for a Landscape Architect - Streetscapes and Design, to assist in the delivery of the Urban Forest Strategy through the street tree planting programme. Other design and landscape architecture tasks will also be required which include:
- Delivery of urban design and public realm capital works projects
- Provision of urban design services
- Community consultation and engagement
- Provision of landscape architecture/urban design referral advice on large developments
