About the Role
A rare and exciting opportunity is waiting for a highly experienced Early Years Learning Team Leader in the North Carlton and Princes Hill area.
The role will encompass the team leadership of North Carlton Children’s Centre and Princes Hill Kindergarten.
North Carlton Children’s Centre is licensed for 89 places, which encompasses two 0–3-year-old rooms, one integrated kindergarten program and one sessional kindergarten room that delivers 3- and 4-year-old sessional programs.
Princes Hill Kindergarten is situated inside Princes Hill Primary School, is licensed for 22 children per day and currently delivering two mixed aged sessional programs.
Pedagogy and Practice principles in our services are founded on the values of inclusion, voice of the child, trauma informed practice, environmental sustainability and meeting the individual needs of children and families.
To support the team of highly dedicated educators, the Team Leader will sit within a leadership team comprising of the following:
- A full-time Early Learning Precinct Coordinator
- A full-time off the floor Precinct Team Leader
- A full-time off the floor Precinct Educational Leader

The qualities we are looking for in our candidate include
- A minimum 5 years’ experience in leadership/management roles in Education and Care services with particular strength in finance, compliance and human resource management
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience working with children and families with complex needs
- Ability to foster an environment of innovation amongst the team
- Proven experience with the planning and implementation of service projects
- Strong systems-thinking skills with the ability to design, implement and maintain effective operational processes
- Demonstrated numerical and analytical capability to develop and manage compliant rosters and staffing allocations
- Highly organised with strong time management skills, able to prioritise competing demands in a busy service environment
- Proven people management skills including the ability to support, coach and hold staff accountable in a respectful and strengths based way
- Ability to model professionalism and support others to meet expectations, deadlines and compliance requirements.
