  • Supportive and Friendly team environment where we value growth and development
  • Award winning organisation-wide Health and Wellbeing initiatives
  • Work in a dynamic and collaborative environment

Yarra City Council is a dynamic and flexible organisation. We pride ourselves on inclusive culture and diversity. We aim to make a positive difference in people’s lives and continually improve services to the community.

Our benefits include opportunities for learning and development, a focus on wellbeing including a world-class EAP offering and generous leave entitlements together with the support of a collaborative and progressive team.

Yarra Youth Services has an opportunity for a person with relevant youth work experience and qualifications to join the Youth Support & Pathways team, based in Fitzroy. This is a job-share role, and we are seeking a person with experience working with young people in 1:1 and group settings, with strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Undertake intake and assessment of young people for the Work and Development Program (WDP) scheme. The WDP is part of Fines Victoria and provides a non-financial avenue for young people to reduce their fines. Yarra Youth Services are a sponsor for the WDP. This permits eligible young people to work off their fines by attending approved programs and supports at Yarra Youth Services.
  • Accurate data entry into the WDP portal and Youth Services database.
  • Liase and provide support to the Youth and Middle Years Unit to ensure build capacity and respond to queries.
  • Make appropriate referrals for young people to other internal and external supports, such as the Youth Support case management program, financial counselling and housing.
