Community Transport Officer
Employment Type:
- Permanent Part Time – 17.5 hours per week
- Monday - 9:00am to 3:30pm
- Tuesday - 8:30am to 3:30pm
- Wednesday - 9:00am to 2:30pm
- Flexible arrangement available – applicants may apply for one day, multiple days, or the full 17.5 hours per week.
Band 3 – Starting from $ 66,391.90 + super (pro rata)

About the Role
The City of Yarra is seeking a reliable, compassionate and community-minded Community Transport Officer to support older people and people living with disability to remain active, independent and connected.
Working within the Senior Support Services Unit, you will provide safe and supportive transport to community programs, shopping, and outings across the municipality. This role is more than driving — it is about building positive relationships with residents, supporting wellbeing and delivering a high-quality community service.
In this role you will:
- Provide safe and reliable transport services to eligible residents across the City of Yarra
- Support residents with mobility aids, safe boarding and general assistance during transport
- Work collaboratively with the Community Transport team and broader Senior Support Services staff
- Monitor and report resident wellbeing concerns where appropriate
- Assist with basic administration, vehicle checks and daily operational requirements
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a candidate with strong customer service and communication skills, safe driving experience, and the ability to work respectfully with older people and people living with disability to help deliver outcomes in the Senior Support Services Unit. This may include providing community transport services, assisting residents with mobility needs, monitoring client wellbeing, undertaking vehicle safety checks, and supporting daily operational and administrative tasks.
