About the Role

Lead the financial future of one of Melbourne's most vibrant and progressive local governments. As Chief Financial Officer reporting into the General Manager Corporate Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Yarra City Council's long-term financial sustainability, driving organisational performance, and enabling strategic investment that delivers lasting community outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an accomplished and future-focused finance executive who can provide strategic leadership and trusted advice at the highest levels of the organisation. You will bring a proven ability to balance strong financial stewardship with innovation, ensuring Council remains financially sustainable while supporting ambitious organisational and community outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a contemporary CFO who combines strategic vision with strong financial acumen and people leadership capability.

You are comfortable operating at executive level, influencing outcomes, navigating complexity and building trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. You have a demonstrated track record of driving financial sustainability, organisational improvement and high performance within complex public sector or similarly regulated environments.

Most importantly, you are motivated by public value and the opportunity to contribute to a progressive organisation that makes a meaningful difference to its community.
