About the Role
Do you enjoy variety in your day, and working closely with other service delivery professionals?
Do you have a tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent) and/or Social Work (or equivalent) and experience in the delivery of support services to families and children?
You might be exactly the person we're looking for!
This is a highly specialised role where you'll be working alongside vulnerable community members and their children to support parent-child relationships. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team with other counsellors, caseworkers and support workers and support a caseload of 16 children and their families where there is a 3-year-old eligible for 3-year-old kindergarten (pro rata).
Your days will consist of outreach home visits to these families, relationship and capacity building with the parents that encourage effective in-home learning, connection, sustaining relationships with wrap around services as well as kindergarten teaching teams.
You'll become a part of the Pedagogy team within the Children's Services branch: the successful applicant, will join the AEL professional partnership (there are 2 AELs at Yarra).
Strong written, verbal skills and personal organisational skills are essential to succeed in this role.
