Band 5 -$80,410.06 + Super + RDO (RDO applicable for full time 38 hours per week only)
About the Role
Join the Prosecution Team, an essential and vital component of Yarra City Council's Compliance & Parking Services Branch. Your role is at the forefront of ensuring legislation and compliance by supporting the end-to-end management of prosecutions on behalf of the Council.
You will assist in delivering a high-quality, legally sound, and customer focused prosecution service. This is an administrative role requiring significant attention to detail and sensitivity, where you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of the team. Some key responsibilities are:
- Assist in preparing complete, accurate, factual, and legally acceptable court briefs for prosecution.
- Assisting in prosecuting cases in open court and ensuring court outcomes are correctly recorded in the database
- Liaise effectively and accurately with external parties such as Fines Victoria, Magistrates Court, Neighbourhood Justice Centre, external solicitors, to support faster case resolution
- Respond promptly and effectively to all customer enquiries seeking advice on prosecution matters, handling them efficiently
This position offers a clear development pathway to undertake prosecution training.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly skilled individual with a strong legal/administrative background, ready to make a significant contribution to the Compliance & Parking Services Branch. This means:
- Demonstrated skills and experience commensurate with the requirements of the role
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and proven written and oral communication skills, including experience in drafting correspondence, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proven experience working in a high-volume administrative role that requires effective time management, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and develop.
- Demonstrated high level of computer literacy, including excellent MS Office skills, and proficiency with case management or customer relation management software.
- A commitment to a customer focus and a continuous improvement mindset to enhance the service being provided.
