About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Executive Assistant to play a pivotal role in supporting our General Manager Corporate Services.
As an integral member of the Divisional Leadership Team, you will provide high-level executive and administrative support that enables the General Manager to focus on strategic priorities. Acting as a trusted link between the GM, CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Councillors, staff, and the community, you’ll ensure seamless communication, manage critical workflows, and deliver outcomes with professionalism and care.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys balancing competing priorities, and is motivated to make a meaningful impact within Yarra City Council. You’ll not only manage the day-to-day operations of the GM’s office but also contribute to projects and initiatives that strengthen service excellence across the organisation.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a highly motivated and organised professional with:
- Extensive experience providing high-level support to senior executives, with proven ability to manage workflows, priorities and sensitive information effectively.
- Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate agendas, briefings, reports and correspondence.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and liaise across all levels, including senior management, elected officials, government agencies and community representatives.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and corporate systems (e.g., TRIM/Content Manager, Oracle, TechnologyOne – or similar), with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion and political awareness in handling confidential and sensitive matters.
