Band 8 – Starting at $122,746.58 + Super + RDO (RDO applicable for full-time 38-hour week only)

Yarra City Council is seeking a skilled and strategic property professional to lead the development of the Collingwood Town Hall Housing Project — a priority initiative focused on delivering new affordable housing on a Council-owned site. This early-stage project requires a professional who can advocate effectively, build strong partnerships, and progress a sustainable and deliverable outcome for the Yarra community.
The role will suit someone who can navigate the intersections of property development, housing policy, and local government processes. You will also support broader strategic property work, including identifying future acquisition opportunities aligned with Council’s infrastructure and community goals.

About You
You bring:
- Strong experience in strategic property, land development or asset management
- The ability to lead complex projects in a multi-stakeholder environment
- Confidence working with a variety of stakeholders and external agencies
- Knowledge of housing delivery models in the public context
- Well-developed political and commercial acumen, strong communication and negotiation skills
Key Responsibilities
- Lead feasibility, planning and engagement work for the Collingwood Town Hall Housing Project
- Build support and momentum through engagement with state agencies, housing partners and internal stakeholders
- Provide expert advice on delivery options, risk management, and governance
- Identify and assess strategic acquisition opportunities that support Council priorities
- Contribute to broader property strategy, advocacy and investment planning
