Strategic Communications Officer

Full Time – Temporary Position (until February 2026)

Band 5 - starting at $78,448.84 + super + RDO (RDO applicable for full time 38 hours per week only)

The Strategic Communications and Marketing team is looking for dynamic, creative and proactive communications professional to join our fast-paced and collaborative team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact, guiding the strategic direction of our communications across a variety of platforms. The role:

• Plans and creates dynamic, creative and effective content for internal and external audiences using a range of platforms.
• Supports the writing, proof-reading and editing of Council publications.
• Supports and develops content for engagement activities and marketing campaigns as required.
• Assists with the research and writing of speeches as required.
• Leads the development of content for Council’s intranet and internal staff communications.
• Supports strategic communications projects and narrative development.
• Provides support and assistance for internal staff engagement events.
• Provides administrative support to the Unit as required.

To be successful, the right candidate will have experience working in complex and dynamic environments, work collaboratively and have strong customer service and administration skills. You are a highly organised and your attention to detail and strong communication skills ensures seamless coordination of logistics and stakeholders.
