Reporting to the General Manager City Sustainability and Strategy, the Manager Statutory Planning and Building Services will provide inspirational leadership to the Statutory Planning and Building Services teams.
This role is instrumental in contributing to the overall success of Council now and into the future, by supporting the delivery of the Council Plan through a high-quality service provision and by ensuring that Councils governance, risk management, decision-making processes and customer service are supported by appropriate, robust and contemporary methods that are compliant with legislative frameworks.
To be successful in this role you will
- Bring proven leadership and statutory planning and or building expertise, ideally in an inner-city environment, either within local government or an aligned sector.
- Be adept at forming credible and collaborative relationships with a diverse range of groups and individuals.
- Pride yourself on your strong consultation, presentation, and communication skills, and ability to develop and inspire great outcomes from your team.
- Have a tertiary degree in Planning/Building or a related discipline together with a thorough knowledge of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and Building Act 1993, you will be politically astute and have a sound understanding of the economic, environmental and social dynamics of an inner metro community.
