Band 8 – Starting from $122,746.59 + super + RDO (RDO applicable for full-time 38 hours per week only)

About the Role

The Head of Organisational Development leads a specialist team that is responsible for the support and delivery of the organisation’s culture, capability and employee experience initiatives.  This role works across the entire organisation at all levels, promoting and supporting the delivery of workforce strategies that strengthen skills so that Yarra can deliver valuable services for the community.

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Oversee, manage and communicate all organisational development, including driving culture, workforce planning and learning and development activities with a D&I lens.
  • Maintain strategic oversight of all work being undertaken across the Organisational Culture & Capability team.
  • Develop, update and embed change resulting from framework, policy and program development related to portfolio.
  • Drive Council’s commitment to continually improving the experience of staff from diverse backgrounds, including people with disability, older and younger workers, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ people, Aboriginal people, and women.
  • Lead and develop the Organisational Culture & Capability team to achieve assigned strategies and objectives in line with the ethos of the P&C branch.
  • Provide expert advice and support on a broad range of people and culture policy issues and business practices, offering solutions in line with organisational priorities and ensuring all legislative and policy requirements are met.
  • Engage and work effectively with specialists and external providers as required, including managing contracts and procurement.

We’re looking for a candidate with experience in Organisational Development to help deliver outcomes in the People & Culture Branch. 
This may include:

  • Project management
  • Stakeholder engagement and collaboration
  • Policy and strategy development
  • Change management and implementation
  • Learning and development coordination
