Yarra Libraries is seeking an experienced programs facilitator to join our service who can develop, deliver and evaluate community programming across all five library locations. We're looking for someone with a sharp attention to detail and continuous improvement mindset who can communicate and collaborate effectively within a team environment. This position is based at Richmond Library but may be asked to work at alternative locations as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Programs and Services
- Participate in the development, and lead the delivery of, community programs and events that meet identified community and organisational needs.
- Support the Library Programs and Events Lead with the implementation of systems and processes to ensure successful program delivery.
- Support team members through training, coaching and skill-sharing in relation to events management and program design.
- Establish and maintain an awareness of community partnerships and opportunities to promote library services and engage underrepresented and marginalised community groups from across the municipality.
- Participate in industry networks and working groups across Council, and other community education providers to identify opportunities for collaboration.
Service Promotion and Communications
- Contribute to the development of marketing and communications plans to promote library programs and events.
- Promote library services, collections, programs and events through established communication channels and networks.
- Develop promotional content for use across print and digital channels, in alignment with established guidelines, policies and procedures.
Customer Service and Library Operations
- Provide proactive, courteous, and responsive customer service that supports access to library services, collections (including digital resources) and library programs.
- Perform daily operational duties including (but not limited to) opening and closing routines, cash reconciliation, shelving, shelf reading, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
- Respond to general and complex customer enquiries with care and efficiency, referring where appropriate to senior or specialist staff.
- Enforce library policies and procedures fairly and consistently, contributing to a safe and respectful environment for all patrons and staff.
Collections and Reader Development
- Provide support for ordering of library resources, as required.
- Under the guidance of library leadership, maintain library collections in accordance with established frameworks, policies and procedures.
