About the Role: Yarra City Council is seeking a dedicated Civil Works Supervisor to join our team. This role involves delivering high-quality, efficient, and value-driven services to our community through road and infrastructure maintenance.

You will be assisting with Infrastructure Maintenance activities - road repairs, footpath reinstatement, street furniture and street signage repairs.  This role offers a diverse and rewarding work environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Maintenance: Manage the upkeep of road and footpath assets, including signage and street furniture.
  • Supervision: Provide direction and oversight to in-house roads staff, contractors, and trainees.
  • Scope Maintenance Requirements: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contractors to ensure best practices in quality and programming.
  • Contract Oversight: Monitor and audit maintenance work performed by staff and contractors.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to council standards and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) requirements.
  • Management of Capital Budget: Manage small capital budget projects

What you will bring to this role:

  • Experience in the civil construction industry (Civil Construction Cert 3 desirable).
  • Ability to review and develop civil construction plans in line with council's standard drawings.
  • Proficiency in understanding and utilising detailed maintenance contract specifications.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements related to employee and public safety
