Early Childhood Educator Diploma Qualified - Multiple Positions

Multiple positions - full time, part time, permanent, temporary and job-share opportunities.

Band 4 - starting from $70,961.52 + super + RDO (RDO applicable for full time 38 hours per week only)

Yarra City Council currently have multiple exciting opportunities for dedicated and passionate diploma qualified Early Childhood Educators to join our team at Connie Benn Early Learning Centre.

The successful applicant will become an integral member of our early learning team, delivering the highest standard of education and care to the youngest citizens in our diverse community. We are seeking an educator who is passionate about the early years, committed to inclusive and responsive practices, and eager to explore Indigenous perspectives and trauma-informed approaches in their work.

Ideal candidates will bring a strong interest in exploring Indigenous perspectives and embedding them meaningfully within the curriculum, as well as a solid understanding or willingness to learn about trauma-informed practice. Your role will support holistic child development by fostering a sense of belonging, safety, and cultural respect in the learning environment.

Yarra is a child safe organisation and as such you will understand the important role that educators play in protecting and advocating for children’s wellbeing.

Skills Required:

  • Complete understanding the Victorian Early Years Learning Development Framework and Early Years Learning Framework and experience in implementing a quality planning cycle within an early childhood education setting. 
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and experience implementing strategies into daily programs. 

  • Ability to foster secure, trusting relationships with children and families.

  • Strong observation and communication skills to support children's emotional and behavioural needs.

  • Capacity to implement inclusive, developmentally appropriate curriculum and effective ways of communicating the program to support diverse children and families. 

  • Team collaboration, reflective practice, and adaptability in challenging situations.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)

  • Training or knowledge in trauma-informed practice (formal or experiential)

  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification

  • Hold a current Working with Children Check or Victorian Insitute of Teaching

  • Experience working with diverse children and families is an asset
