Band 7 - starting at $105.898.07 + super + RDO (RDO applicable for full time 38 hours per week only)

About the Role:

The Infrastructure, Traffic, and Civil Engineering Branch at Yarra City Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader. This role involves overseeing and managing our dedicated Development and Civil Engineering team, responsible for the oversight and inspection of reinstatement works on Council's roads and footpaths.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, direct, and supervise team members, ensuring accountability and effective performance.
  • Plan, prioritise, and organise the team's work to meet Council objectives and goals.
  • Oversee and manage reinstatement works on Council’s roads, footpaths, and land.
  • Communicate effectively and manage external stakeholders working on Council assets.
  • Maintain systems, practices, and processes to ensure Council’s information, database, and management systems are up-to-date and accurately maintained.

You excel at multitasking and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Your success will be measured by your ability to be an effective team player and contribute significantly to maintaining high-quality and efficient work practices.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience supervising civil works in a council environment.
  • Thorough understanding of legislation, including Council Local Laws and the Road Management Act.
  • Project Management experience.
