Yarra City Council is seeking a Manager Financial Services with proven business and commercial acumen to make a valuable contribution to the future direction of Council.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will drive a strong continuous improvement agenda with a focus on enhancing business systems and processes to unlock new and efficient ways of working. Leading the financial services team, you will be responsible for a portfolio of key focus areas including monthly and quarterly reporting, annual budget process, long term financial planning, financial and statutory reporting, business systems and legislative compliance. A key partner to the CFO, your ability to develop internal relationships with key stakeholders and maintain strong external relationships with key government departments and the community will be an area where you will excel.

You are an experienced people leader with exceptional interpersonal skills, a motivated self-starter with high energy levels, and passionate about inspiring teams. Degree and CPA/CA qualified is a key requirement for this role, together with your can do attitude and your willingness to roll up your sleeves and support your team. You are a customer centric and confident leader who is experienced in driving best practice through technologies.

Experience and understanding of local government or the public sector would be highly desirable, however not essential. Your ability to support the CFO in shaping the strategic financial direction of Council is critical.
