About the Role
Yarra City Council’s Infrastructure, Traffic and Civil Engineering Branch is offering an exciting opportunity for two dedicated Civil Construction Worker Operators to join our team. You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and value-driven services that support the maintenance and improvement of our community’s roads and infrastructure.
This hands-on role involves a variety of civil construction and maintenance activities, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork. Your work will directly enhance the appearance and structural integrity of Council’s streetscapes and assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Road maintenance and reinstatement
- Drainage repairs
- Concreting and bluestone paving
- Asphalting
- Signage and street furniture maintenance
- Operation of plant and equipment
Preferred Skills and Experience
We are particularly seeking candidates with experience in:
- Excavator and skid steer operations, including use of profiler attachments
- Civil construction, especially asphalt placement and concreting
- Laying and restoring bluestone paving
- Holding a Heavy Rigid (HR) licence (preferred)
- Traffic management: controlling traffic with stop/slow bat and implementing traffic management plans
