Band 8 - starting from $122,746 + super + RDO (RDO applicable for full time 38 hours per week only)

Yarra City Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead its Risk team. The role includes oversight of Council’s Risk Registers and Reporting, liaising with every council department and external stakeholders, and overseeing the Emergency Management and Insurance portfolios. We are looking for an experienced risk professional to join our new CFO in building upon a good existing foundation and setting the framework for future success.

The Risk Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework to identify and mitigate strategic, operational, and financial risks. This role ensures compliance with legislative obligations and optimises council's insurance portfolio to address coverage gaps and improve efficiency. The coordinator provides risk management advice, supports staff training, and maintains the Council Risk Register to ensure a proactive approach to risk management. This role is also appointed as the Fraud Officer of the organisation.
