Communications Officer

Temporary Full Time – until 10 February

Band 5 $71,554.61 - $83,385.69 + super + RDO

Yarra City Council is seeking an experienced communications professional to join our Communications and Engagement team on a 6 month basis as a Communications Officer.

We’re a collaborative and creative team, and we need someone who can build strong relationships and assist with communications projects and campaigns.

We're looking for a strong writer with digital content experience (including social media), impeccable attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment. You'll have the opportunity to work creatively on a variety of projects from across the organisation.

We are currently all working remotely, with regular video meetings and other virtual catch-ups. We will set the successful candidate up with a laptop, headset, and other equipment they need to work remotely.

POSITION OBJECTIVES

  • Provide support in the effective administration of Yarra's social media and digital communications channels including social media and EDMs.
  • Planning and implementing communications campaigns, including content creation for digital and non-digital channels.
  • Writing for, proof-reading and editing council publications.
  • Assist in the development, administration and updating of Yarra's web and intranet sites.
  • Provide administration assistance to the Communications and Engagement Unit as required.
